18(?)th annual photo of Great Dixter and the long border. Lovely visit this morning.
Enjoying a quick visit with Paddington Bear on our way to Devon. We are visiting to put some final touches on our 2024 Gardens and Mysteries of Devon tour.
The early morning rain ended just as we set out for Villa Melzi. The grounds were peaceful and every direction offered a dramatic view. A special position on Lake Como.
I have been doing a little work on our website and our upcoming trip to Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. Getting excited for our 2023 tour just around the corner.
Asters outside one of our garden visits in 2023.

A great day on Huron Tour’s “Summer Gardens of Scotland” tour. #scotland
Beautiful organic carrots fresh from the earth at the Ballymaloe Cookery School Shop in County Cork. #Ireland
Wild pops of color in Jimi Blake's Hunting Brook gardens in County Wicklow, Ireland. "If you don't like reds and oranges together you might want to just...skip this part of the garden" says Jimi. #gardens
Fun dainty display of blooming flowers from different parts of Beth Chatto’s plants and gardens.
I apologize to any sheep I may have stressed out today on my jog around Camber Castle in Rye (built by Henry VIII in the 16th century.)
I mistook the fences for paths on my map research and ended up in a dead-end field.
And we humans think sheep are stupid.

Chelsea Flower Show in Style & English Gardens Collection Brochures are in Progress
Our talented and stalwart graphic designer Brittany Bethurem has been burning up the internet tubes in a mad rush to produce our slate of 2023 garden tour brochures. We currently have "Cornwall Spring Garden Spectacular", and "The Philadelphia Flower Show" brochures available. Up next: "The Chelsea Flower Show in Style", "Rye English Garden Extension", "Oxford and the Gardens of the Cotswolds", and "Cambridge and the Gardens of Norfolk." Followed by "Intimate Gardens of Ireland", "Summer Gardens of Scotland", and "Autumn Gardens in the Italian Lakes". Poor Brittany!
We are starting to compile and send Travel Insurance quotes for our English Garden Show participants. If you don't want to wait for us you can get your own quote here.
It is with very heavy hearts we have to report the death of John Kosta Sr, the founder of Huron Tours and Travel.
My father retired from Huron about 15 years ago, and I know I have regaled many of you with stories about him while on our tours. I am sure he is in heaven now talking into a motor-coach microphone, explaining some not-to-be missed features of the spectacular garden he has found there.
Many of you have shared stories with Katie and me of unusual, special or sublime events that occurred while traveling with my father (and our other favorite type of story of "when things went wrong on a tour.") He truly loved exploring the world, interacting with everyone, and sharing it all. He set a great example on how to get the most from life, and I know he will be deeply missed by many.
If you'd like to read his obituary this link will take you to it.
My youngest brother, Michael, also has a nice instagram post with a few pictures: you can find here. Warning - my brother is a stand up comedian so proceed with caution if you decide to explore his instagram further.
